Managing your blood sugar can be a challenge.
Diabetes is a problem with your body that causes blood sugar levels to rise higher than normal. Type 2 diabetes is the most common form of diabetes. If you have type 2 diabetes, your body doesn’t use insulin properly and has difficulty keeping your blood sugar at the right level.
Many people use medications like metformin to manage their blood sugar levels, but it doesn’t always work.
The AMPLITUDE-D study is testing an investigational medication
Local doctors are looking for people with diabetes for a clinical research study of an investigational medication. (Investigational means it isn’t approved for the public yet.)
If you qualify for this research study, you may have the opportunity to try this medication. You may also receive study-related care at no cost, and compensation for travel.

- A clinical study drug
- Study-related care
- Compensation for travel
- You may be eligible to participate if you:
- Are at least 18 years of age
- Have type 2 diabetes
- Take metformin for your diabetes
Health insurance isn’t required. The study doctor will assess other criteria to make sure that you’re eligible to participate.
